FOCUS ON RELEVANT EVENTS
People & vehicle detection
Discuss camera placement, detection zones and alert handling for entrances, boundaries and loading areas. Hikvision AcuSense applies deep-learning human and vehicle classification on selected cameras and recorders; it is not a guarantee that every alert is correct.
What needs checking?
Lighting, scene geometry, rule configuration and environmental conditions influence detection. Define real-site test scenarios and acceptable false-alert levels before handover.

VEHICLE ACCESS
ANPR & vehicle entry
Plan recognition cameras, lane layouts and permitted-vehicle workflows. Plate recognition is a separate model-specific capability, not a feature automatically included with every AI camera. Gate integration and manual override require an agreed scope.
What needs checking?
Check Malaysian plate formats, camera angle, vehicle speed, lighting and integration interfaces. Recognition does not replace safe barrier controls or a defined fallback procedure.

ACCESS & ATTENDANCE
Touch-free face access
Discuss face-access terminals from selected ZKTeco or Hikvision product families. Plan enrolment, user permissions and attendance reporting as separate requirements. Anti-spoofing and software integration capabilities must be confirmed for the chosen terminal.
What needs checking?
Consider biometric data handling, retention, access permissions and a non-biometric alternative. Emergency exit arrangements must remain independent of recognition success.

UNDERSTAND SPACE USAGE
Counting & occupancy insights
Use supported camera and software analytics to discuss how spaces are used. Entry/exit counts, area occupancy and queues are different measurements; select equipment against the metric you actually need rather than a generic AI label.
What needs checking?
Crowding, occlusion, camera mounting and calibration affect results. Agree how counts will be validated; occupancy analytics must not be presented as a certified life-safety system.

Event analytics & video search
Discuss event-based investigation and supported video-management tools. Hanwha Vision offers AI analytics through camera features and its Wisenet WAVE AI plugin, including people/vehicle classification and rules such as intrusion, loitering and line crossing. Search functionality depends on the selected camera, recorder and software combination.
What needs checking?
Confirm recording retention, processing capacity, metadata support and channel licences. Adding software analytics to existing cameras may require additional compute and separate recording licences.

CONNECTED OPERATIONS
AI-assisted networking & Wi-Fi
Discuss AI-assisted management options within selected HPE Aruba Networking and Cisco platforms. Start with network visibility, user-experience issues and administrator workflows. Cloud-managed networking alone is not necessarily AI, and ordinary switches do not automatically include these capabilities.
What needs checking?
Check supported devices, telemetry, management platform, subscriptions and data handling. Recommendations need administrator review; no autonomous self-healing or guaranteed performance is implied.

BRING INSIGHTS TO THE TEAM
AI-enabled control rooms
Integrate agreed alerts, video sources and dashboards into the control-room workflow. We combine room design, operator consoles, video walls and AV/IT planning with supported analytics interfaces—not a promise that every product shares one universal AI platform.
What needs checking?
Define operator actions, alert ownership, escalation, permissions and fallback processes. AI output supports human decisions; it does not replace safety-critical controls or authorised operators.

RESPONSIBLE SYSTEM PLANNING
Know what you are buying.
Is full-colour night imaging an AI feature?
Not by itself. Low-light colour imaging, such as ColorVu, concerns how the camera captures an image. Detection and classification are separate analytics capabilities. A selected model may combine both; check each feature in its specification.
Can AI be added to my existing CCTV?
Sometimes. Software analytics may work with compatible existing video streams, but processing capacity, image quality, recorder support and licences need checking. Not every camera upgrade requires replacing the entire system, and not every existing system can support the requested feature.
Does AI guarantee accurate alerts or recognition?
No. Real-site conditions affect performance. Agree a pilot or commissioning test, practical acceptance criteria and a human review workflow. Do not rely on AI output alone for safety-critical decisions.
Are cloud management and AI-assisted networking the same?
No. Remote management is not automatically AI. We check whether the chosen Aruba or Cisco platform provides the requested insights and which devices, telemetry and subscriptions it requires. Other brands can still support the underlying network without being presented as AI products.
What about privacy and biometric data?
Define the purpose, access controls, retention, notices and applicable Malaysian data-protection requirements before deployment. Face access also needs enrolment rules and an alternative method for users who cannot or should not use biometrics.
